So there I was, standing in White Sands National Park dragging my australian shepherd from dune to dune watching the sunset. We had been on the road for almost a week to get there. I stood there watching the sunset and thought, "That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen... but f#@k I'm exhausted."
I worked on the strip when I could in the camper but there were days where I was so tired I just wanted some food, to watch the sunset, and ponder on things. I'll give you a little peak into those thoughts. I want to experiment a little more with the art and that takes time. This strip will evolve and take on new forms like a bad fever dream. I have a notebook with most of my ideas. There will be a noir mystery storyline, a John Wick/Chinatown bloodbath storyline with a car chase, a firework snake worshipping cult storyline, a desert drug story that makes me think of something like movie The Salton Sea, etc... So many ideas. So many characters to develop their backstories. So little time.
I work on this strip in the evening hours after work and have a limited amount of energy at the end of the day. I could try things that would give me a boost. I've heard wonderful things about meth. It's energizing effects along with time compression. While I'm okay with a little weight loss I'm unfortunately a little attached to keeping my teeth. Plus, this storyline needs to stay somewhat coherent... and legal.
With all that being said I'm moving the strip to biweekly. So I can grab the bulletin board and string these plot points together like all the great dirty little conspiracy theories. Experiment with the order of panels from desktop to mobile to give two different stories based on what you're viewing it on. Occasionally change the art style to fit the story at the moment and let this artistically grow and not become stagnant. Please teddy bear with me.
I would also like to take the time for the people I see in my analytics reading the strip from Ireland and Sweden. I wasn't expecting that. It's cool to see the idea is appreciated there. That, or you sit back and watch this like a bad American train wreck. Do you sit there shaking your head wondering how we allowed something like this to be created? Maybe I should fit something in this story just for you. Sigh! That just gave me another idea about the Bipolar Bears...
Sincerely,
E
