THE PRESENT
“I have no clue how the body got up there,” said Panda as he hit his joint.
Time Bomb Teddy knew better than to think Panda didn’t have something to do with it after what he just said. He wanted to ask but was pretty sure it would involve drugs, sex, and gambling. “I suspect you know how. Should I ask?”
“Nope,” said Panda.
They stood there quietly for a while. Kougar was slowly rocked back and forth on the noose by the occasional breeze. Finally, Time Bomb asked, “Should we cut him down?”
“You know what will happen.” Panda leaned over as he took another hit off his joint. “Same for everybody else here. In 3 days he’ll come back to life. Racist as ever.”
Time Bomb thought about it for a little while. Kougar was problematic in the closet with the rest of the toys. The fact that he was good friends with Krank Kitty didn’t help either. Those two together wreaked havoc. He also didn’t like the situation. “You have a point. He isn’t well-liked. Plus, I don’t want to get any paw prints on anything. We’re two minority bears at the scene of a white kougar’s death.”
Thanks to Time Bomb, Panda was suddenly aware of the compromising position they were in. “Good point. Let’s get out of here.”
